Code Of Conduct

The coveted Chyangra Pashmina label indicates the finest quality and adherence to the highest standards of care. Please read our requirements below.

Step One

Members using the Chyangra Pashmina label will work and encourage others in working towards enhancing the image of Pashmina products.

Step Two

Members will work towards maintaining and encouraging others to maintain quality standards in manufacturing Pashmina products using criteria set by Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA).

Step Three

Members will manufacture and encourage others to manufacture Pashmina products using the segregation criteria set by NPIA.

Step Four

Members will not mix and will discourage others to not mix any other materials with Pashmina other than the ones allowed as per the code of conduct.

Step Five

Members agree to use the Chyangra Pashmina label properly and to not misuse it. He/she will discourage others to misuse the label as well.

Step Six

Members agree to use the Chyangra Pashmina label only in quality tested Pashmina products and to discourage activities undertaken by others to misuse the Chyangra Pashmina label in low quality products.

Step Seven

Members will help manage the implementation of quality standards in an effective manner.

Step Eight

Members will take full responsibility of any damages as a result of using the Chyangra Pashmina label in low quality Pashmina products.

Quality Standards

  • Fiber Diameter: Should not exceed 17 microns.
  • Fiber Purity: The yarn should have a minimum of 97% Pashmina fiber.
  • Fiber Strength: Not specified.
  • Fiber Composition: If mixed with any other fibers, the yarn should have a minimum of 51% Pashmina content.
  • Yarn Count: Not specified.
  • Color Fastness: The fiber should feature durable color fastness.
  • Harmful AZO Dyeing Usage: The fiber should be free from harmful AZO dyeing.
